** 2016 Spanish Town Mardi Gras Ball Security Measures **
The BR River Center has initiated some new security measures which will be effective for the 2016 ball and decorating party.
Decorating party times will be from 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM.
Entrance to the hall will be restricted to the front entrance on River Road. There will be NO parking in front of the River Center on River Road. You can pull your car up to unload, but someone must drive it to the parking lots immediately – no car can be left unattended, much like the airport unloading. Ice chests, bags, purses, boxes, etc. will be searched before you enter the hall. Ice chests sizes are limited to 48 quarts or less – remember no styrofoam. There will be absolutely NO access from the loading area. If you park in parking areas B1 or B2, you MUST go up the elevator and walk to the front entrance. EVERYONE must clear the hall by 4:30PM – NO exceptions.
Hall access for the ball will start at 7:00 PM.
You can only enter from the River Road front entrance or from the East Plaza entrance upstairs. If you have handicapped individuals or are dropping off people from your group, you must drop them off at the front entrance on River Road, then go park you car. If you park in parking areas B1 or B2, you MUST take the elevator to the East Plaza and enter there or walk around the concourse, down the stairs to the River Road entrance. You cannot walk to the loading area from these parking garages as they have been gated off. If you use the parking garages, the walk thru will put you in the East Plaza. At both entrances your purses, bags, and ice chests will be searched, so please be prepared when you get to the search tables, so we can keep them moving at a good pace. If you go outside of the hall, you will be searched again upon re-entry.
These measures are for everyone’s safety and we expect you to comply with the River Center
